2-4 Yr. Old Programs

Two year olds
Since there is such a vast developmental difference between the young and the older 2 year old, Children’s Creative Corner provides two classrooms for the two year old children. In addition, a 2 ½ hour preschool program is available throughout the year.

24-30 months
The younger 2’s enjoy a curriculum based on themes of the week. They explore colors, their five senses, All About Me, Dr. Seuss, and other fun and interesting themes through carefully planned activities. We also focus on encouraging language development through stories and songs, and fine-tuning their gross and fine motor skills.

30-36 months
The older 2’s enjoy daily circle times and a variety of activities based on their themes of the week, which include shapes, colors, transportation, Old MacDonald’s Farm, and Holidays Around the World. An important accomplishment for the older 2’s is learning self-help skills including toilet training, dressing themselves and developing self-confidence and a positive self-image.

Three year olds
Children’s Creative Corner offers full-day and half day programs for 3 year old children, a 2 ½ hour preschool-only program is available throughout the year.

The 3 year olds enjoy a theme-based curriculum as they work on such skills as letter and name recognition, counting, cutting with scissors, and reviewing shapes and colors. The children focus on one letter of the alphabet each week, along with exploring art, music, stories, and small and large group activities. Themes in the 3 year old room include:

  • Winter Wonderland
  • Groundhogs and Shadows
  • Under the Sea
  • Dinosaurs
  • Little Campers

Four year olds
Children’s Creative Corner offers full-day and half-day programs for 4 year old children. In addition, a 2 ½ hour preschool-only program is available from September through May.

The 4 year olds are very busy learning the alphabet one letter at a time. Each week, beginning with “Aa”, the children learn all about the sound the letter makes, the upper and lower case forms of the letter, and create class and individual letter books. Math skills are also enhanced with learning the numbers 0-10 and by creating individual number books. The children also choose activities from different learning centers in the classroom and holiday programs. Themes in the 4 year old room include:

  • Bears
  • Fall Fun
  • Investigating Insects
  • Dr. Seuss
  • Holidays Around the World
